I currently live on Sixteenth Street and Eighth Avenue, less than a mile from the proposed casino location.

The High Line has brought both locals and tourists including many families from around the city and the world to the Far West Side Of Manhattan, which in the nineteen eighties, as many of you may recall, was quite bleak.

The original 2009 Hudson Yards West plan, as you know, was envisioned primarily as a residential neighborhood with a focus on green space.

There was a commitment for affordable housing, a new public school and other community focused initiatives.

It was designed, in my opinion, to be family friendly.

There is no way that a casino and family friendly go together.

And so now this plan has become something totally different.

Once you add a casino, you lose the positives.

No good will good will come from building this casino for all the reasons everybody already knows.

There are plenty of things to do and ways to be entertained and make lots of money in New York City without the proposed Hudson Yards West Casino.
