So lead mold and asbestos remediation comprised of over $1,100,000,000 in capital investments.
3:41:35
Can NYCHA publicly release the breakdown on where those remediation projects will take place, including timelines for the removal in Harlem's oldest buildings such as King Towers or Saint Nicholas Houses.
3:42:02
Thank you.
3:42:03
And the council, pushed to increase funding for NYCHA's vacant unit readiness initiative to $1,134,000,000.
3:42:13
How many current vacant apartments in Harlem can be turned around with this investment and what is the current average time it takes to reoccupy a unit?
3:42:56
And last thing regarding heating and energy efficiency in Harlem.

The $1,200,000,000 allocated for heating upgrades and greenhouse gas compliance, what specific Harlem developments are prioritized for boiler replacements, decarbonization or insulation?

Residents in Harlem frequently report lack of heat during the winter.
3:43:15
How does this plan directly address their needs?
Eva Trimble
3:41:49
Thank you, council member.
3:41:51
We can certainly follow-up with more detailed information about the developments in your district and the amount of lead and asbestos remediation and abatement that we're doing in those in those apartments.
3:42:23
Thank you council member.
3:42:24
We will again follow-up with the specifics on the number of vacants in your district.
3:42:29
As far as the time frame, that is much harder to answer.
3:42:34
As said, we have about 5,900 vacant available units right now.
3:42:38
So we are working through a significant backlog and working to get to all of apartments as quickly as possible, though the overall number, as I said, is hard to bring down because 60% are for transfers.
3:42:50
But we can certainly follow-up with you on the units in your district and get you some more information on those.
Shaan Mavani
3:43:19
Thank you councilmember.
3:43:20
So I think there's a significant number of developments in Harlem and and in your district that are part of our boiler replacement or decarbonization energy efficiency work.
3:43:30
We can provide you a full list of those, where they are, some are completed, some are ongoing.
3:43:35
We do provide a biannual letter to all council member offices about the status of all capital projects in their district.
3:43:42
I think our next one is to come out in a month or so, but we can definitely give you something before then specifically around heating.
3:43:49
I think your earlier question also may have been partly referencing the comprehensive modernization at St.
3:43:54
Nicholas.
3:43:55
We're happy to give you a deep dive on where that project is, the schedule for renovations that are ongoing at the site as well.
3:44:01
Thank you.
3:44:03
