This is a procedural segment before Joseph C. Barelli is elected minority leader and delivers a speach.
In this segment, the Committee on Rules, Privileges, and Elections is elected. Diana Ayala is the temporary chair, and members include: Joseph Barelli, Justin Brennan, Gail Brewer, Sylvina Brooks Powers, Crystal Hudson, Keith Powers, Rafael Salamanca, and Pierina Sanchez.
Also in this segment, Diana Ayala is elected deputy speaker of the city council and the Majority Leader is Majority Whip are designated.
