A council member states that application can change, especially when they get the council.
They ask why the applicant feels like their application should be prioritized over the public review of the comprehensive plan.

So, Rich, stain that is not finally improving.
0:26:34
You're stain that's in the guidelines.
0:26:36
You know as in the body, you look applications can change.
0:26:40
Especially when it gets to the council and we vote on them.
0:26:44
Why does the applicant feel like it should be prioritized over the public review of the comprehensive plan if this application could change when it gets to the council?

0:26:56
Yes.
0:26:56
So a good question.
0:26:58
But when I look at the envelope and the uses that are required pursuant to AMUP, I see a building which currently stands at 3 stories taller than our building.
0:27:08
At a building that currently stands at 1000 of square feet greater than our building, and one which basically understandably, given the outlook of city planning, doesn't restrict any uses at the site.
0:27:21
I don't see necessarily even after deliberation.
0:27:25
That these buildings and AMUP will necessarily be reduced by greater than 3 stories or, in this case, thousands of square feet.
0:27:31
And admittedly, city planning doesn't like to condition use on buildings.
0:27:35
They understand the realities of business and retail and the fact that city planning as a whole doesn't wanna limit your uses.
0:27:42
The applicant here is voluntarily doing so.
0:27:45
So understanding that that's not currently a part of AMO.
0:27:48
The applicant here is saying, we're gonna enter agreements into our property.
0:27:52
Are gonna require these job generating uses.
0:27:54
And not only that, but we've got Evergreen, which is the local industrial advocacy group.
0:27:59
To to ensure that these uses aren't just good uses, but are great uses.
0:28:03
So I think that's the reason that despite the fact that, of course, there may be changes aim up.
0:28:07
We're still not only well within it, but in some ways exceed the opportunities provided for the site.
