Before we begin, I want to acknowledge the passing of my friend and former counsel member Paul Malone.

Paul served in this legislative body from 2014 to 2021.

And he continued his public service as deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Veterans Services over the past 2 years.

Paul stood here in these chambers with me as I was sworn in just a few weeks ago to start this session.

He was a beloved colleague and a well respected leader in Queen's And New York City.

His contributions have benefited countless New Yorkers and will continue to have an impact for generations.
