Francisco Calderon, a street vendor and member of a vendor advocacy organization, shares his experiences working on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Addressing the committee, Calderon acknowledges crowd control issues on the bridge but emphasizes the critical need for a sustainable solution that benefits both vendors and the public.
He proposes the creation of a 'commercial hallway' or a dedicated vending space near previous locations to support vendors' livelihoods and accommodate family expenses in the U.S.

So good afternoon.
2:18:36
Good afternoon, miss President, and everybody in the panel.
2:18:39
My name is Francisco Calderon.
2:18:41
I'm a member of the organization that manages the sellers in the street.
2:18:47
I've been working in the Brooklyn Bridge for year and a half.
2:18:50
I recognize, and I'm aware that there were some crowdings in the place, and I would like to find a solution, a wise solution for it.
2:19:00
For all of us, not only the sellers, but everybody there because this job is benefiting not only us, but our families because we are getting our income.
2:19:09
And you know that the expenses here in the states are really high.
2:19:14
And this situation that we had to stop working all of a sudden has made us so for the consequences and all of our situations.
2:19:25
So we would like to have a short term solution.
2:19:29
I would like to propose a like a commercial hallway because the space is enough to do it or if not in in front of where we were before.
