Lars Lopez, a general merchandise vendor and member of the Street Vendor Project, testifies in support of bills 1264 and 1253, aimed at regulating general vendors and part of the Street Vendor Reform Legislative Package.

Lopez also backs Council Member Gale Brewer's idea for vending on the Brooklyn Bridge, sharing his journey from military service to vending as a means to live the American dream. He emphasizes the importance of street vending as a legitimate livelihood, lamenting those forced to work without licenses due to flawed systems.

And as a general merchandise vendor, It's a path that I also took along with others, and I believe everybody deserves a chance to live in the American dream.
