Good afternoon, everyone.
1:39:36
My name is Regina Meyer.
1:39:37
President of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership.
1:39:39
I'm also have been a member of the mayor's panel on Street vendors advisory panel.
1:39:44
I'd like to speak briefly only on Bill T2 75, which would allow vending to be immediately adjacent to obstructions as you've heard previous speakers speak to.
1:39:55
The Part Downtown Brooklyn Partnership has, since its creation, worked tirelessly to create a neighborhood that's safe, clean, and welcoming to all.
1:40:03
We initiated a public realm effort right before COVID to engage all of our stakeholders stakeholders to ensure that we as business improvement districts can do the most we can to enhance the pedestrian experience along our major shopping street.
1:40:20
To that end, I'm proud to report that the partnership has received support from the administration to upgrade streetscape and improve conditions for the thousands who flock.
1:40:30
To downtown Brooklyn daily as a part daily.
1:40:33
As a part of the New New York effort, this excuse me.
1:40:37
I I stumbled here.
1:40:39
And this support was as a part of the new New York effort to work through recovery after the COVID health crisis.
1:40:47
Put briefly, this bill would undo a great deal of this work, allowing for unacceptable sidewalk conditions that would create safety hazards for the users on our cyborg streets.
1:41:00
Downtown Brooklyn cyborgs are amongst the busiest in the city accommodating an a number of varieties and uses, and now we are planning for new amenities to enhance our landscaping outdoor dining and street furniture experience to enhance our neighborhood and make it safe for all.
1:41:20
It this all will make a vibrant safe place along with our vending along Fulton Street.
1:41:27
This bill would decrease the amount of space of pedestrians on the sidewalk and never negatively affect that experience.
1:41:35
We wouldn't be happy to work with the council to find a solution as we've been discussing previously to continue to find a great balance on our sidewalks.
1:41:46
Look forward to working with all of you.
