My name is Vicente Pineda.
2:56:18
I've been a street vendor in Forum Road at the Bronx.
2:56:21
I'm fixed fifty six year old, and I've been in the street for 46 years.
2:56:28
And I know that I have less years to live that the years that I had already lived.
2:56:33
I'm not here to question any loss or any dispositions that had been made in the past, but I'm here in the name of on behalf of the street vendors because when you can see that the country is spending a lot of money in wars that are only causing suffering and hunger.
2:56:51
When here, the group of vendors we are struggling to survive with the weather, with the people, with some authorities that don't treat as well, especially sanitation that doesn't inspire any respect.
2:57:03
What is inspiring us with a lot of fear.
2:57:06
We're having that now this immigrant crisis.
2:57:11
And we all the groups that are suffering that we are vulnerable.
2:57:15
We are suffering because of that.
2:57:17
We think that is crucial that this bill gets approved.
2:57:20
Because it's gonna protect thousands of jobs of vulnerable populations.
2:57:25
And now we have these great group that is the SVP, the Street vendors project.
2:57:32
And we know that this organization is going to create a new generation of the Street vendors.
2:57:37
They are gonna respect the law, and I are gonna make a difference.
2:57:42
So on behalf of my family, on behalf of all the family of string vendors, Thank you for their time, and I would hope you make a fair decision for all of us.
