I'm counsel member Lynn Schulman, Chair of the New York City Council's Committee on Health.

Thank you for joining us for today's hearing on a preconceived introduction sponsored by myself, which would require the Department of Health And Mental Hygiene to develop a healthy NYC population health agenda.

Last session, I joined the mayor and commissioner of Wasson to announce healthy NYC, a new campaign to increase New York's life expectancy by 2030.

As part of this campaign, my bill would require the Department of Health And Mental Hygiene to develop a 5 year population health agenda to improve public health outcomes address health disparities and improve quality of and access to health care.

I wanna note that this legislation was heard last session in this committee and all testimony from that hearing will be incorporated into the record for today's hearing.
