Council Member Salamanca oversees the New York City Council Committee on Land Use session, announcing decisions on multiple local urban development proposals including the 230 Kent Avenue Rezoning Proposal, Weisong Lane’s rezoning, and the 2226 Third Avenue life science building, among others. Today, we are voting to approve the modifications LU's 102 for the Weisong Lane's rezoning proposal in Castle Mountain Young's district in Queens, The proposal consists of a zoning map amendment and a related zoning tax amendment to facilitate the development of a residential building with approximately 415 apartments.

Including approximately a 113 permanently affordable units.

A modifications would be to add the default affordability option Castle Mama Young is in support of the proposal as modified.

We also will vote to approve LU's 345 for the 2226 Third Avenue proposal and deputy speaker Ayala's district in Manhattan.

The proposal consists of a zoning special permit and related zoning map and tax amendment to facilitate the development of a 10 story life science building.

We will also vote today to approve AU's 9 and 10 for the 160 dash 11 91st Street, special permit proposal and council member Williams' district in Queens.

I will not repeat everything that may that my colleagues clearly articulated in our zoning sub committee, except to reiterate that the council together with the Department of City Planning and the broader community have been collaborating on and developing a comprehensive plan for the area known as a m u p, AMUP, and which is nearing the final stages before embarking on the formal the formal unit process.

To maintain and protect the integrity of the process and to ensure that the AMAP plan addresses the concerns of all affected stakeholders we should not act at the same time be considering individuals, peace meal actions that do not take the same comprehensive approach.
