Council Member Won introduces Intro 100, proposing the suspension of alternate side parking on the Losar holiday to honor the cultural and religious practices of New York's Tibetan and Himalayan communities. Highlighting the importance of allowing families to celebrate without concern for parking tickets or towing, Won emphasizes the significance of Losar for approximately 61,000 Buddhists and Himalayan New Yorkers. By drawing parallels to existing accommodations for Lunar New Year, Won, alongside council members Krishnan, Joseph, Kaban, Holden, Hanif, Nurse, and Abiles, calls for broader recognition and respect for Losar within city regulations.
