Speaker 4
1:28:12
So we do our outreach is actually quite extensive, and we do it in a number of different ways.
1:28:18
We have a project specific outreach that we work very closely with with SBS as well as LNWBE.
1:28:28
For for example, our our some of our design build projects, and we have the scope of service that we're going to require.
1:28:39
So it's very, very targeted in terms of the outreach that we ask SBS to do to the certified MWBEs within their their database.
1:28:51
We also adding to that, we also reach out to MWA's that we have done business with before, making sure that they're included in that out reach.
1:29:02
We also participate in the SBS burrow forums, making sure that we touch MWA's there, and we also work with the borough presidents when asked to to put on events.
Speaker 13
1:29:21
Chair, if I may.
1:29:24
You you brought up a good point about the physical challenges the city has faced.
1:29:29
However, DOT, we are investing a lot of in house resources and staff time to make sure that we do exactly that.
1:29:37
Doing outreach events.
1:29:38
We just held and I'm gonna turn it over to Carlos Banister, who heads our MWD office.
1:29:43
We held an event where we connected vendors.
1:29:46
Both subs and primes and just to let them know about the opportunities of doing business with DOT.
1:29:53
So I'm gonna turn it over Carlos?
Speaker 15
1:29:56
Yes.
1:29:56
We've had industry days.
1:29:58
That's how we do outreach.
1:29:59
Like, we have one today for, like, ebikes.
1:30:02
Where specifically focused on the various projects and we allow MWA's to come in also to meet prime contracts with potential subcontracting and joint ventures.
1:30:11
We had our doing business with New York City DOT, where we partner with chief Garner, DDC, and other agencies.
1:30:18
Where we had over 570 MW vendors who came to the event.
1:30:23
Also, we have done and changed our methodology on how we advertise our contracts.
1:30:28
We do not just do the bare city record.
1:30:30
We go out to 15 ethnic media groups on the various areas.
1:30:33
So for instance, we will look If we have a contract in Queens, we will look for the small newspaper article media people to advertise those projects for us.
