Two quick questions.
1:09:52
You mentioned earlier the office of School Health.
1:09:56
And the focus on children.
1:09:58
So I wanted to ask, how is your agency supporting mothers with children with this particular office?
1:10:05
How do you support children who have asthma and their mothers were getting access to services?
Speaker 4
1:10:11
That's a great question.
1:10:13
Our offices of school We have an asthma case management program that works in certain schools across New York City.
1:10:20
And what happens with that program is that if as a child is enrolling in school if it's noted that they have a diagnosis of asthma.
1:10:29
The asthma case manager will contact the parent and engage with the child as well to make sure that there is an asthma management plan on file with within the office of school health or with the school nurse at the school, and will also help to coordinate care counseling, information sharing, all the kinds of things that would help to reduce the chances of a asthma exacerbation for the child.
1:10:56
And so that asthma case manager also certainly engages with the parent and make sure that the parent has access to the resources that they need.
1:11:04
But that is really more focused on asthma.
1:11:07
The school health program is focused more on ASMA than other services.
Speaker 1
1:11:12
And this is citywide.
Speaker 4
1:11:14
It we could follow-up with you for the specific schools where we have that program.
1:11:18
But, yes, it is it is citywide.
Speaker 1
1:11:21
So is the city also taking steps to improve air quality in areas in the city to have heightened rates of CLRD?
Speaker 4
1:11:29
That is a great question.
1:11:30
Our colleagues at environmental health within the city, they are the part of the city government that responsible for monitoring, air quality, and reporting it out.
1:11:39
And so that is a huge priority for us.
1:11:42
In fact, I know that there is a lot of work that we're currently doing around congestion pricing and air quality related to that.
1:11:49
We could certainly follow-up with you on some of our efforts surround air quality.
Speaker 1
1:11:53
It will be good to know how you both are partnering together to provide that.
