Agata Naklicka, Manhattan Borough Planner at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, introduces the Timbale Terrace project. This affordable housing initiative aims to construct a 19-story building with 341 units of affordable and supportive housing, including community facility space for the Afrilen Jazz Alliance and NYPD parking. The project, inspired by the 2016 East Harlem Neighborhood Plan, utilizes an underutilized city-owned lot for community benefits.

I'm excited to be here today presenting on the Timberlake Terrace project an affordable housing project that will result in the construction of a new 19 storey building containing approximately 341 Affordable and permanent supportive housing units.

The proposed development also includes ground 4 community facility space, which will be home to the Afrilen Jazz alliance, and also NYPD replacement parking, which will be located on the ground in Second Floors of the proposed development.

The Tambala Terrace project came to be as a direct result of feedback received during the East Harlem neighborhood plan.

Which was completed in 2016 and was developed to provide recommendations for addressing key neighborhood issues and a key recommendation of the The plan was to use public sites to advance a 100 percent affordable housing projects with additional services for residents.

In 2021, this development team was selected by HPD via a competitive RFP to redevelop the NYPD parking lot located along Park Avenue between East 118th Street and East 119th Street.

And HPD is excited about this unique opportunity to develop an underutilized city owned parking lot with much needed affordable and supportive housing units.

As part of the Ulerb application, HPD seeks approval for the following land use act UDP designation and project approval and disposition of the development site and an acquisition of approximately 30,000 square feet.

On the ground in Second Floor is to provide space for 75 NYPD replacement parking spaces.
