Good afternoon.
1:39:37
I am Jane Lindbergh, and I have lived in Yorkville for 44 years.
1:39:42
This rezoning is simply a bad deal for the city and the neighborhood.
1:39:45
It does not do enough for affordable housing, and it gives up too much in return.
1:39:51
I was I attended the Community Board at November meeting, and I was a donished to hear the severity of the concerns around affordable housing.
1:40:00
We all agree that the city is in need of affordable housing, but in this case, The developer is only offering 25 percent affordable at 60 percent AMI, the absolute minimum.
1:40:13
This city is being asked to give up so much.
1:40:15
So why wouldn't a developer be a good neighbor and offer more, such as 40% affordable?
1:40:23
CVA degrees.
1:40:25
Concerns about affordable housing is a risk for the developer to build, and I quote, It's the minimum you required to do to build something.
1:40:34
I don't think this is actually anything that the neighborhood wants.
1:40:38
That was from Alida Camp of CB 8.
1:40:42
I quote from another CB 8 member.
1:40:44
I am just shocked by this and by our pretended innocence about what a real estate developer is really after in our neighborhood.
1:40:52
And believe me, those other rental units are going to be at market rate.
1:40:56
Which is only gonna go up and up and up and up.
1:41:01
Jane Parcel, CB8.
1:41:04
Further cementing the fact that this project will do very little to address the problem, I quote, it will increase the stock of unaffordable apartments.
1:41:15
Anthony Cohn, CB8.
1:41:18
I urge the city council to reflect upon the voices and concerns of community board 8 and act upon the most serious conditions.
1:41:26
Such as increasing the affordable housing component in a meaningful way to make this a good deal for the city.
1:41:35
And I thank you.
