The Civil Service Pathway Fellowship, a partnership with CUNY, offers a direct path into civil service through specialized training and hands-on experience in various tracks.
- The fellowship focuses on procurement and finance, data, and digital fields, with plans to add engineering, architecture, and project management.
- After one year, participants are eligible for a civil service exam related to their work, guiding them towards relevant civil service titles.
- The fellowship aims to attract top talent by doubling the positions available and offering specialized titles like "public service fellow", linked to their specific track of participation.
- Titles fellows qualify for are based on their track, such as procurement analyst for those in the procurement and finance track.

There are there other organizations that the city or Decast has paired up with to collaborate on the administration of exams?

Many different pathways, but one that I would highlight that has you know, a direct pathway to civil service is the civil service pathway fellowship.
0:46:32
This is a partnership with with Q And E.
0:46:35
Yes.
0:46:36
It is a 2 year fellowship, and we focus on 3 particular tracks where there is an immediate need for top talent, so it's procurement and finance, data, and digital, and There's one other.

So pretty much folks who participate in this program after 1 year of successful completion, they're eligible to take civil service exam for a title that is tied to the work that they're doing.
0:47:09
They also receive specialized training and hands on experience at, you know, city agencies.
0:47:16
So this is a program that we're very proud of.
0:47:19
We're actually working to expand the program, working with the state civil service commission, to double the amount of positions that we have available and to add 2 additional tracks for educate for engineering and architects and project management, which we've heard from our city agencies, they're interested in attracting top talent.
0:47:41
So we're very excited about that.

How are the civil service titles selected to participate in the fellowship?
Katrina Porter

So the the fellowship title itself is a is a a specialized title.
0:47:51
It's it's called the public service fellow.
0:47:54
Mhmm.
0:47:55
And so the titles that they qualify for are directly tied to the track that they are participating in.
0:48:02
So, you know, for the procurement and finance track, their participation in that track would make them eligible for a title like procurement analyst.
0:48:12
And so on and so forth?
