New York City Public Schools facilitate resources and community events for parents to learn about the FAFSA process, including in-person options.
- Schools and districts are equipped with up-to-date FAFSA resources for creating community events like pizza and FAFSA night.
- The focus is on ensuring parents have access to the most current information, avoiding outdated FAFSA details.
- The role of the Office of Student Pathways is to interpret federal and state updates related to FAFSA and communicate them effectively to schools.
- The aim is to make the information digestible for schools to relay to parents, including those without access to Zoom or similar platforms.

From our thank you for the question.
1:17:42
For from our perspective, in the office of student pathways, we equip schools and districts with the resources so that they know that the FAFSA information they have in front of them as they are creating community events, whether that's, you know, pizza and FAFSA night as some schools do or like an evening where they're evening where they're they're providing this sort of support directly to the communities.

We wanna ensure that they don't have the 2022 information, but they have the 2024 information.
1:18:11
So our role is ensuring that we're interpreting what's coming from federal shifts to FAFSA, any state shifts to tap and that we're being the most credible messengers we can to school so that they can then turn key because school staff has very big jobs.
1:18:27
And so our role is to we aim to make sure that the information is as up to date and as digestible as possible.
