As my colleague mentioned, miss Decca is deeply committed to serving immigrant older adults in our vibrant and diversity.
2:09:36
I represent an organization dedicated to ensuring that all members of our community regardless of background or circumstance have access to essential health care services.
2:09:46
Today, I wish to address the critical importance of providing information about the NYC Care program to immigrant older adults.
2:09:54
Our immigrant older adults are among the most vulnerable population in our city facing unique challenges as they navigate healthcare systems often unfamiliar to them.
2:10:04
Language and cultural barriers can create significant obstacles to assessing the care they need and deserve.
2:10:11
As a healthcare advocate working directly with these communities, I have witnessed firsthand struggles faced by immigrant and older adults in understanding their health care options and enrolling into programs like NYC Care.
2:10:23
The NYC Care program represents a life lifeline for many immigrant adults offering comprehensive health care coverage and access to a network of primary providers, specialists, and hospitals.
2:10:36
I witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that this access to health care can have on the lives of our immigrant older adults by connecting them with information about the NYC Care program and assisting them and enrolling and empowering the adults to take control of their health and well-being.
2:10:56
Moreover, by fostering partnerships between community organizations and healthcare providers and and agencies, we can ensure that immigrant older adults receive the comprehensive support they need to thrive in our city.
2:11:07
At Mxdeco, we have made it our mission to bridge this gap by providing information about NYC Care to immigrant older adults and their native languages, whether it's through community workshops, one on one consultations, or informational materials, translated indigenous languages.
2:11:22
Our community organization is committed to ensuring that all every eligible individual understands their health care options and can make informed decisions about their health at well-being.
2:11:34
Thank you.
