How does HPD use Ribis for inspections and do they have direct access to it?

Deputy Commissioner AnnMarie Santiago explains that the HPD does not directly access Ribis for inspections, but utilizes it through coordination with the fire department.

  • HPD identifies buildings for proactive inspections based on specific criteria.
  • This list of buildings is then sent to the fire department, which applies Ribis.
  • The fire department returns a ranked list to HPD, influencing the selection of buildings for self-closing door inspections.
  • Santiago clarifies that HPD's use of Ribis indirectly contributes to their inspection processes.

How is Ribis used by other agencies, HPD DOB, with your proactive inspections or any of your inspections reactive?
1:54:18
Do you have access to this information?
AnnMarie Santiago
1:54:21
So we don't access rebis directly.
1:54:23
We sent over for the proactive program we identified a list of buildings based on our criteria, and then we gave that list to the fire department, and they applied the the ribos.
1:54:36
And then they gave us back the ranking, and we worked from there.
1:54:40
So we didn't directly access it, but certainly it played a big role in the selection of buildings for those proactive self closing door inspections.

Okay.
