And how how were employees or positions impacted to a new program, but how were employees or positions impacted by the PEG, whether it's this program or in general?
Sue Donoghue
0:28:50
I mean, writ large by the budget cuts.
0:28:54
So employees weren't impacted by the cut in terms of this program because it hadn't started yet.
0:28:59
But in terms of our overall peg and we had a 5% peg and a $25,000,000 reduction.
0:29:08
That we are incorporating and that will impact our ability in terms of moving forward, we will still continue to have our seasonal plan and the fact that we are in experience in part of a hiring freeze and and that kind of thing.
Shekar Krishnan
0:29:28
We'll get more into that in the budget hearing.
0:29:30
We'll we'll we'll save that for for them.
0:29:32
But Yeah.
0:29:33
I will just say You know, it is it is shocking that for an administration that seems to be committed or states that's committed to swimming to our parks and green spaces to see a program city hall just to reiterate, included for 5,000,000 to expand, learn to swim.
0:29:48
That same city hall has cut that funding from the parks department budget.
0:29:52
So we're not moving forward in any way to actually achieve swim access and water safety access for all New Yorkers.
0:29:59
We're actually taking steps backwards.
0:30:00
And that's very, very disappointing.
0:30:03
But that is something that it must be put back in and quite shocking that they would City Hall would implement it.
0:30:10
Put the funding aside, and then take that funding back.
0:30:13
That I'll end there with the first round of questions.
0:30:17
I have some more on this topic, but I wanna turn to my colleagues to ask some questions as well.
