The NYC Department of Finance does not anticipate any unusual factors that would lead to a change in assessments between the tentative and final role differing from the typical 1% to 1.5% reductions this year.

  • Commissioner Preston Niblack states there's no anticipation of unusual factors this year.
  • The process involves internal changes and tax commission actions on value or exemption status.
  • A slight decrease in market value is expected, aligning with usual trends.

So is there anything happening this year that would that lead you to believe that the change in assessments between the tentative and final role will differ from the typical 1% to 1.5% reductions?

No, I think we I don't see anything unusual.

We typically, you know, it's a combination of changes by notice that we do internally or tax commission actions either on the value or on exemption status but I think we are expecting a slight decrease in market value in line with what we usually see.
