The Mayor's Office of Asylum Seeker Operations (OASO) has a strategic plan but acknowledges the need for flexibility in response to changing circumstances.

  • OASO released a strategic plan in April that serves as a roadmap.
  • OASO is involved in ongoing strategic planning to address long-term goals.
  • The office adapts its plans monthly based on new information to best serve New York City and its citizens.

Do you anticipate a long term plan?
1:42:39

But is there a projected long term vision for what this office or will or will not be?
Molly Schaeffer
1:42:51
Yeah.
1:42:51
So we actually put out a strategic plan last April, which started this office, which was our road map.
1:42:58
We will likely put out another one as and we are constantly involved in strategic planning and figuring out what the long term makes sense.

But every month of this is different, and so we have to take in those inputs to make sure we're doing the best for New York City in a citizens.
