NYC Aging does not have targeted campaigns for immigrant older adults, focusing instead on inclusive services available in all required city languages.
- Services are accessible to all older adults, regardless of status, with 57% of older adults being foreign born.
- Outreach and services are provided in the city-required languages, with a focus on eight languages specific to older adults.
- NYC Aging spends around $2 million on advertising for outreach.
- Though not specifically targeted, NYC Aging supports community-specific programs such as India House and Chinatown Planning Council, catering indirectly to immigrant populations.

But in recent years, the immigrant older adult population has grown at a faster rate than many other cohorts of older adults.
1:04:32
It's critical that this community is adequately informed about different services provided at NYC Aging.
1:04:38
How much does NYC Aging spend on campaigns and outreach aimed at immigrant older adults?
1:04:44
And in which languages is such outreach conducted.
Lorraine Cortes-Vasquez
1:04:47
So the way I the way I answer that is that we're really fortunate that all of our services are open to all older adults regardless of status.
1:05:00
And so, immigrants And as a matter of fact, what 57% is the number 57% of older adults are foreign born, which means that they're immigrant.
1:05:12
And our services are conducted in all of the languages required by the city.
1:05:16
We focus on 8 that are particular to older adults.
1:05:20
So outreach is a regular effort that we go through for all older adults and attracting them to come into our services.
1:05:29
So there's no targeted effort for immigrant older adults, but because of the way we are.
1:05:40
Because of the way we provide services in all languages, in all communities, for all individuals open to all regardless of status.
1:05:49
There is no barrier to services for immigrants.
1:05:53
The other thing I wanted to say is to answer a little bit of a commission I mean, council member banks a question.
1:06:00
And now this question is, there's about $2,000,000 in advertising services within are always seized so that they can do outreach and inform their community about the services.

1:06:18

1:06:23
And if so, what well, you just answered that.
1:06:25
But what if so, what they and what is the budget for each?
Lorraine Cortes-Vasquez
1:06:30
I would say targeted communities.
1:06:33
I can give you the budgets for those.
1:06:35
You know, targeted communities, and we also have programs that are specific to particular communities, you know, like India House.
1:06:45
And Right.
1:06:46
Chinatown Planning Council and Viasas and several programs that are very targeted, and most of those populations are also immigrant populations.
Crystal Hudson
1:06:55

Lorraine Cortes-Vasquez
1:06:58
