A DOB official provides a detailed update on the situation at 1915 Billingsley Terrace, explaining the progress made and current status of violations and repairs.
- DOB has been meeting weekly with the building owner to review open violations and issues
- All but 8 apartments have had their vacate orders lifted
- The owner has resolved the majority of violations but is still working on submitting certificates of correction
- The discrepancy between the owner's claims and the DOB website is due to incomplete paperwork submission

So as you know, we've been working very closely with the owner of 19 15 Billingsley.
3:54:25
We've been for the 1st few months.
3:54:30
I would say for the 1st month, we met with them almost daily.
3:54:33
Since that time, we've been meeting with them weekly.
3:54:37
And reviewing all the open violations, all the open issues that they had.
3:54:44
We've been at the building numerous times.
3:54:47
At this point, we've lifted the vacate on all but 8 apartments, 6 that were impacted during the collapse.
3:54:57
At at this point, the owner has resolved the majority of the violations.
3:55:03
And I specifically say the owner, there there's there's 2 violations that are related to the sidewalk shed company.
3:55:10
They need to resolve those violations, but the violations directed towards the owner.
3:55:15
They've resolved the majority of those violations.
3:55:18
But as the commissioner mentioned earlier, the certificate of corrections processes is what they haven't completed at this point.
3:55:25
So they've submitted 2 certificate of corrections.
3:55:28
1 was accepted.
3:55:29
1 is in process and being reviewed.
3:55:32
The rest of the violations, they have not submitted the paperwork yet.
3:55:36
And that's something that we've discussed with them, and they said they are working on that.
3:55:41
So that's this the disparity, but what we're seeing in the field and what you're seeing in terms of data on our building information system.

3:55:49
Thank you.
3:55:49
That's helpful to understand.
3:55:51
And more so even as a as an example of of this problem of the certifications.
3:55:58
Okay.
3:55:59
So 1915 is an example of of an error by a professional.
3:56:04
Right?
3:56:04
A structural column structural brick was misclassified as decorative.
3:56:09
So this, to me, raises the question of DOB's current practices and also capacity to audit such submissions.
