Good afternoon.
5:03:10
I'm Jin Dill, Executive Director of Housing And Services Inc.
5:03:14
We are a permanent supportive housing provider with 625 congregate units and 100 Scatterside units.
5:03:21
We're looking for group housing.
5:03:23
As you probably will, though, is the most time tested well, most cost effective in he humane way and and in comic homelessness.
5:03:32
We are members of the supportive housing network in New York, and we support all of the network's advocacy points for this hearing.
5:03:39
I urge the committee to support the proposed reallocation of NY5 15 housing units and resources.
5:03:47
The 1515 initiative to create 15,000 supportive housing units within 15 years is both a bold and necessary stepdad home assist.
5:03:57
However, it's 5050 allocation to congregate in skysight housing is not sustainable as the current rental market does not provide enough acceptable housing stock to support the 7500 units.
5:04:11
We continually struggle with our current scatter site program to find and maintain acceptable housing units.
5:04:18
We constantly year, that market conditions will ultimately make us a provider of substandard housing.
5:04:24
In that event, we would become part of the problem and not part of the solution.
5:04:29
We have no intention at this time for applying for 1515 Skatterside Units.
5:04:35
We applaud the 1515 congregate program, which is fundamental to the development of our newest 107 unit project.
5:04:43
We are seeking to apply again with the new conduit project The 1515 program is crucial and should not fail due to the flawed 5050 allocation.
5:04:53
We urge the committee to support the reallocation of 1515 scatter site resources to new congregate units and to the preservation of our first generation housing, which desperately needs additional funding to comply with local law 97.
5:05:09
Now, I thank you for your time this evening.
