  • DOB has created a new outreach and assistance unit to support building owners
  • The New York City Accelerator provides free services to help building owners comply with Local Law 97
  • Partnerships with Con Edison and NYSERDA are in place to provide financing and support for compliance efforts
Laura Popa

But we are focusing a significant amount of amount of our time on outreach.
3:29:00
So part of the reorg involved creating a new outreach and assistance unit.
3:29:06
And then but the big player here is the New York City Accelerator, which is the city's free service, right, to help building owners comply with local 97.
Lincoln Restler
3:29:14
Absolutely.
3:29:14
And do you see Accelerator ticking up in their outreach and engagement?
3:29:17
Are you seeing
Laura Popa
3:29:18
Yes.
3:29:18
Substantially.
3:29:19
We have we have spent a lot of time working with accelerator with and and with Con Ed and Nyserta in order to get the word out, and then really the bottom line is hook building.
3:29:30
They need to know they have to comply, right, and what their responsibilities are, and then they need to be hooked up with financing.
3:29:35
And the people to do the work, and that's where the accelerator kinda had a nicer to come in.
Lincoln Restler
3:29:39
Are we starting to see actual indications of financing happening of being dispersed?
3:29:44
Yep.
3:29:44
Do we have updates on that?
3:29:45
I know.
3:29:45
No.
3:29:46
I know that's not your response.
Laura Popa
3:29:48
I don't have I we can get, like, this is how much Con Ed has, you know, allocated towards particular programs.
3:29:56
I I don't have it.
Lincoln Restler
3:29:57
Yeah.
3:29:57
I'm just interested to see the actual dollars cut out the door and reach buildings and see how many projects are happening as a result of it.
3:30:03
So It's felt very slow to see that move, but we are excited to hear that you think that it's starting to move in a positive direction.
3:30:13
I will I'll let it go with that, but thank you, Cheers, Sanchez, for being so gracious and giving me a few extra minutes.
3:30:19
Thank you.
