O'Sullivan outlines the community benefits associated with the stadium project and NYCFC's nonprofit initiatives. The stadium is presented as a community hub that will provide space for local groups and support youth programs.

  • Free space for community groups to hold meetings and events on non-event days
  • Creation of a community activation fund to offset event-related costs
  • NYCFC's City in the Community program has provided free soccer programming to over 30,000 young New Yorkers

I do want to be clear, however, that the stadium if approved will not simply serve as a place to play soccer games.
2:38:02
It offers a community hub, a home, not just for our club and for our fans, but for the local community while bringing significant economic benefits into the region.
2:38:12
If this project is approved, New York City football club will provide free space for community groups to hold meetings and run events on non event days that will further enrich this vibrant community.
2:38:22
In addition, community activation fund will be created by us to help offset any event related costs incurred by community event sponsors providing a free and accessible space for all.

Those employees, many of whom were born and raised in New York City, and all who lives throughout the city and benefited themselves from soccer programming genuinely are the club's heartbeat.

For them, having a permanent home in Willett's point will help them to expand that programming and reach even more children and families across the five boroughs.
2:39:19
That includes our Saturday night lights initiative which provides free youth development and violence prevention programs in the neighborhoods with historically higher crime rates.
2:39:28
To date, CITC has provided over 30 1000 young New Yorkers with free soccer programming across all five boroughs.
2:39:35
We've constructed over 50 mini soccer pitches for youth and family playing communities across New York City with a goal to build an additional 26 more before the World Cup comes here in 2026.
2:39:46
We currently have a presence in over 78% of neighborhoods in the city and we plan to continue to grow and expand our free school based community programs in Queens along with the rest of the other four boroughs.
