Good afternoon, and thank you.
1:39:07
For having us.
1:39:08
I have recently written to council member in Villas, and so some of these sentiments are repeated here.
1:39:15
I live on 10th Street across from the proposed development at 341, 10th Street owned and managed by Stellar.
1:39:23
Yes.
1:39:23
I'm the terrible homeowner.
1:39:27
I have lived there for 35 years, raised my 2 sons going to local schools, I watched 341 leave the Mitchell LAMA program.
1:39:37
I watched them change their their constituents of of their buildings, the neighborhood began to change.
1:39:46
We were hardworking folks.
1:39:47
Making a living and sharing the community.
1:39:50
And that building was very important since it was so large, and it when it went out of the Mitchellama project, they wanted high income clientele.
1:40:01
They pushed folks out.
1:40:02
They left the park, which is part of their property, which they're now touting to completely disintegrate.
1:40:08
They did not keep promises to their current tenants.
1:40:11
Who they are continuing to damn bamboozle into supporting this upscale project.
1:40:16
I wanna see greater affordability.
1:40:18
Now you fell over when you saw what the the rents were, but those aren't rents that hardworking New Yorkers.
1:40:27
I mean, I worked for the Carpenter's Union for 30 years.
1:40:30
I couldn't have paid those rents, and I had a union income.
1:40:33
With benefits.
1:40:34
Thankfully, I do have a retirement income and a pension, so I have that.
1:40:39
But we need real affordability, and I'm asking the council to stand up.
1:40:43
I know they say they have one building that's a 100% affordable.
1:40:47
That's senior supportive housing.
1:40:48
The other thing about this organization is Everything has to be nailed down with an agreement.
1:40:54
They don't keep their word.
1:40:55
That's been proven for 35 years.
1:40:58
They built their poor Folio, taking buildings out of affordable housing, Mitchell LAMA Projects, and making money from them.
1:41:05
It's gotta stop.
