George Calderaro criticizes the 'City of Yes' zoning proposal, arguing it prioritizes business interests over community well-being.
- Calderaro believes the proposal would negatively impact communities across all five boroughs by favoring real estate industry demands over existing zoning regulations.
- He challenges the dismissal of community opposition as 'NIMBY', asserting that concerns about a neighborhood's aesthetics and functionality should be taken seriously.
- Calderaro highlights issues with allowing commercial activity in residential areas and eliminating detailed zoning rules designed to preserve the character of Manhattan's special districts.
- While supporting some changes to music and dancing rules, he opposes transforming residential areas into entertainment districts.
