Council Member Schulman expresses concerns about the specifics and enforcement of proposed zoning changes.
- Suggests that enforcement may require state or federal involvement beyond just the city
- Requests maps showing how the proposed changes would specifically affect each community board district
- Calls for a Council hearing or meeting with the Department of Buildings to address admitted culture issues and ensure proper enforcement
- Emphasizes the substantial and long-lasting impact the proposed changes could have on constituents

Then when you're talking about and I know I think council member brewers, some others brought this up when you talk about labs and all that kind of stuff.
2:48:28
The enforcement piece may be beyond the city.
2:48:30
It may be state or federal or so we need to have specifics on that.
2:48:35
I think I think, of course, the board when we're talking is that there are not as many specifics as they should be or that will help with our community boards.
2:48:43
The other thing is that I think and I don't know.
2:48:45
I haven't been to the presentations as a community board.
2:48:48
So but do you go with a map of this is this is what the community board.
2:48:53
This is this is what it's made up of a C4 is this that you do.
2:48:58
So I'd like to see that for my district because I think that will be helpful moving forward, that we can do that and say, This is how it's going to affect the district specifically.
2:49:09
You are district.
2:49:10
So I think that would be helpful.
2:49:15
And like I said, oh, and the other thing too is that if there's a way, no DLB is not here, but there has to be a way that the council can have whether I don't know if it's a hearing or a meeting or whatever it is to have some assurances from DOB.
2:49:28
Because even when I've spoken to the commissioner, not about this specifically, this proposal, but about other enforcement.
2:49:35
He's admitted to me there's culture issues at the DOB and that, you know, things have to be changed and all of that.
2:49:41
So we need to really this is something that's substantial and can have a really deep effect, and it's gonna affect our constituents for for decades now, so we have to make sure that we get this right.
