The New York City Economic Development Corporation has not conducted an analysis on the incremental job losses if helipads were restricted to essential activities only.
- Council Member Lincoln Restler asks Jennifer Sun, Executive Vice President of Planning at NYC Economic Development Corporation, if an analysis has been done on potential job losses from limiting helipads to essential activities
- Sun responds that no such analysis has been conducted
- Restler encourages the mayor and NYC Economic Development Corporation to reconsider allowing non-essential helicopter travel until electric helicopters are permitted
- He cites the environmental and noise benefits of transitioning to electric helicopters for communities

So a 173175 jobs.

Have you done any analysis that if these telepads were limited to essential activity, how many jobs would potentially be lost?
Jennifer Sun

We haven't looked at that incremental difference.
Lincoln Restler

Okay.
1:27:15
I appreciate in the the there is a potential path in downtown to go to electric, which would have significant environmental and noise benefits in our communities.
1:27:27
But I strongly want to encourage the mayor in EDC to reconsider the continuation of non essential helicopter travel until until the electric helicopters are permitted.

And I know we're not getting any answers on anything today, but I really hope that that policy will be seriously considered.

Thank you.
