The New York City Economic Development Corporation is confident there is adequate existing electrical substation capacity for a number of charging stations at the downtown Manhattan heliport.
- It is in conversations with Con Edison across its portfolio to make necessary upgrades and ensure capacity
- It will work hand-in-hand with the heliport operator and Con Edison to ensure sufficient capacity is in place
- For the downtown heliport, the operator must invest in charging infrastructure within 12 months and plan for it immediately after winning the contract, not waiting until certification

On the west side, I represent the Manhattan cruise ship terminal and we're working to electrify, provide shore power for the cruise ships.

That is gonna be a multiyear process because what we're waiting on is to hear from Con Edison on whether or not a new electrical substation will be needed.
0:51:30
To accommodate the charging infrastructure.
0:51:32
Do you know if on at the heliports, if the if Con Edison has made a determination about the need for a new electrical substation or does the current power would that accommodate the charging infrastructure that you need.

That's a very good point.
0:51:50
So internally, we've done an analysis of the existing substation capacity in our confident that there is adequate capacity for a number of charging stations at the heliport.
0:52:00
We also are in conversations with Con Ed across our portfolio to to make those necessary upgrades and to make sure that the capacity is there.
0:52:07
Thirdly, I will say that working with the operator, we will go hand hand with Con Ed to make sure that that capacity is in place.
0:52:16
And on timing, I will say as well, you mentioned that it may take some time to to build this out for something like Manhattan Cruise.
0:52:22
Within the 12 month time clock that we set at through our procurement is for that infrastructure to be in place and operational.
0:52:31
So if there's an op so for the operator of the downtown Manhattan heliport.
0:52:36
They need to make those investments right away and start planning for that red right away.
0:52:40
They're not waiting until certification because they know this is an expectation and that has to be in place.
0:52:45
As soon as certification heads.

Thank you.
