The EDC has a system with penalties in place for repeated violations by helicopter operators.

  • The EDC accounts for occasions when flights veer off course due to weather or safety reasons.
  • The EDC plans to strengthen the penalty system in new operating agreements.
  • Specific details about the current penalties are not provided.

And are there gonna be any penalties or anything associated with them necessarily like, let's say, they come up with the plan.
0:26:44
We have this transparent public tool that everyone can see, which we kind of already have different datasets and tools that people can see that folks are in violation.
0:26:52
What then does the EDC have as a penalty or a repercussion tool to then say, this operator as being a bad actor and not living up to the agreement?

Yes.
0:27:04
So we do have a system in place today where there are penalties if there is a repeated offense from that particular operator.
0:27:12
Now this is all we have to keep in and to account that there are, you know, occasionally, reasons for a flight to to veer off course for weather or safety related.
0:27:23
So we take that into account as well.
0:27:25
And we will be always looking to strengthen that in the new operating agreement as well.
