The deputy commissioner states NYC Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) is exploring how generative AI could enhance 311 service delivery.

- They are looking at how AI could fit into current or new 311 channels

Joe Morrisroe
1:30:50
K.
1:30:51
So generative AI, as I think we all know, is something that is merged and advanced rapidly in the last couple of years.
1:30:58
Like any technology, we are looking at anything that may enhance service delivery, anything that may be better for New Yorkers.
1:31:05
So we are doing, let's say, due diligence in that area and trying to understand the AI offerings and then how they could and would fit into a the current the the current channels that 3011 has or potentially new channels?
Jennifer Gutiérrez
1:31:18
So I'm sorry.
1:31:19
OTA is currently looking at generative AI as a tool or ways to integrate to the 311?
Joe Morrisroe
1:31:26
Yeah.
1:31:26
OTI, yeah, OTI is doing a number of things.
1:31:28
As you may know, they as you probably know, they OTI has issued the the mayor's AI action plan October of last year, recently updated in March, which provides governance and guidance.
1:31:39
So that's kind of our umbrella.
1:31:41
But from a technology standpoint and also from a customer service delivery standpoint, we are looking at AI, all aspects of AI, and looking towards what could that do for New Yorkers, what could that do for 31
Jennifer Gutiérrez
1:31:54
Okay.
1:31:54
That's exciting.
1:31:55
I'm going to pass it off to council members, Holden Brewer, and then Paladino for questions.
