The parks commissioner explains the department's efforts to hold concessionaires accountable for maintaining park facilities per their contracts.

  • The parks department recently renewed concessions contracts, including a 20-year agreement for Diker Beach.
  • The department will closely monitor concessionaires' ongoing operations to ensure they properly maintain facilities as required.
  • She cites improvements at the LaTerrat concession as a positive example.
  • The parks revenue concessions division is focused on making sure concessionaires meet their contractual obligations.

First off, in terms of the concession I'm glad to hear about LaTerrat and that you're seeing an improvement there.
4:40:04
As you know, we recently just we did all of those contracts and Diker Beach included.
4:40:13
And so part of it's a 20 year agreement, and we'll be looking very closely at their ongoing operations and making sure that they are doing what they need to do to keep up the facilities.
4:40:24
Absolutely.
4:40:25
I'm glad to hear that's happening at Lark Teret.
4:40:27
And Diker will make sure we stay on top of that as well.
4:40:30
Our concessionaires provide a valuable service.
4:40:33
As you know, and do contribute to that livelihood of the park.
4:40:38
And we want to make sure that they are doing living up to their contract and doing what they need to do.
4:40:43
So that's something that our revenue concessions division is very much on top of it.
4:40:48
We'll continue to be and especially we'll take a look at Daikar and make sure that is the case.
