The commissioner does not provide an estimate of the number of cars that fail to comply with alternate side parking (ASP) rules.
- She states that when street sweepers cannot clean certain blocks, it is often due to high non-compliance on previous blocks
- This slows down and obstructs the street sweepers
- Installing cameras on street sweepers is expected to improve compliance, similar to how cameras helped keep bus lanes clear

Has your team developed any estimate on the number of cars every day that failed to comply with ASP?

I don't have an estimate on the number that don't comply.
1:10:00
But what I will tell you is when people get upset that we our street sweeper didn't get to their street.
1:10:09
It is often because on blocks that we hit before, there is so much noncompliance that our street sweepers get slowed down and and stuck.

And I believe that the putting the cameras on those brooms is gonna work as well, if not better, than similar programs have worked, for example, to keep the bus lanes clean and clear.

I couldn't agree with you more.
1:10:35
I think it's something that I really hope discounts will take up with a home rule message soon.
1:10:40
I I think it's that and red light cameras are the 2 most important things we have to get done.
