Council Member Williams inquires about IBO's cost analysis of the city FHEPS housing voucher program. IBO officials explain their estimation process and projected funding needs.

  • IBO projects a need for $144 million in the current year and $32 million for 2024
  • The total budget is projected to increase to $816 million to maintain existing funding levels
  • IBO's estimation is based on comparing current spending levels to previous years and projecting similar growth patterns

2:01:17
What is your did you do, like, a cost a different cost analysis on the city thefts and its impact?
2:01:23
And if so, was it around the same 860,000,000 or was it different?

So this is, basically assuming, so this assumes, a similar level of expenditure as, last year.
2:01:36
So in particular so for 2024, we looked at, how the total, spending at as of the executive budget compared with the total spending at the adopted budget, and sort of assumed a similar growth in expenditures between executive and adopted budgets to get to the total, 816,000,000 that I mentioned.
