- Concerns are raised about courses being unavailable due to budget cuts, potentially hindering transfer processes
- CUNY is addressing the issue through the ePermit system, which allows students to take courses at other campuses
- The university is reimagining the ePermit system to make it more flexible and accessible for students
- This approach aims to leverage the entire CUNY system rather than limiting students to individual college resources

Okay.

And then just, I guess, my other question is are there enough, sometimes you get to complain that that course in order to transfer from the community collars to the for your isn't available because of whatever budget cuts, etcetera, etcetera.
0:44:08
Is that something that is still an issue, or are you able to address that?
0:44:12
In other words, I need to get out of my community college.
0:44:16
I'm gonna transfer, but the course that I need to do that is unavailable because of budget cuts or whatever.
0:44:22
And that's a concern.
0:44:23
Is that still happening?
0:44:25
And I I I don't understand the business community in New York City not saying CUNY needs help.

Go ahead.
Wendy Hensel

We we will say we always need it.
Gale Brewer
0:44:36
I know about it.
0:44:37
They should be doing more.
0:44:38
Go ahead.
Wendy Hensel

We are trying to address that issue in every way possible, including through what we call ePermit, which allows a student to take at any of the other campuses, the course that they need, at their home campus.
0:44:50
So we are actually at the same time that we're working on transfer reimagining what ePermit how and when the rules are over that so that literally the student once again can leverage the system as opposed to just the individual race courses of the individual colleges.
0:45:07
Uh-huh.
Gale Brewer

And it's the same issue with more professional staff to teach the courses.
