Council Member Dinowitz inquires about CUNY's data on community college students intending to transfer to senior colleges. CUNY representatives explain that they recently launched a new system to collect this information, which will be fully implemented in the fall.
- CUNY previously lacked formal data on student transfer intentions
- A new tool launched in spring will collect this information at matriculation
- The data will be fed into advisement tools at 4-year schools

I want to make sure our data is aligned.

So does CUNY have numbers on how many community college students in each class year in each college intend to transfer to senior colleges.

We don't have data on intention, but that is something CUNY transferred for.
0:18:52
That's the newest feature.
0:18:54
That was just launched this last spring.

And so we are making a full fledged effort this fall to have every community college at the point of matriculation to enter this information into this tool.

And then that information will now be fed into the advisement tool at the 4 year schools.

We will we have that as of spring, and we'll be collecting that going forward.
