Kelly Moan explains that OTI's Cloud Review process is part of the broader OTI divisions and their technology strategy for New York City's digital ecosystem.

  • The Cloud Review provides guidance to agencies on using OTI's in-house solutions or leveraging economies of scale with vendors
  • It assesses security requirements for new or novel technologies, whether cloud-based or on-premises systems
  • Agencies work with Moan's office (NYC Cyber Command) as part of the Cloud Review process as well

I'm glad you brought you brought up the the cloud review process.
1:36:59
Can you share a little bit more about the role that OTI plays in that procurement process for cloud based services?
Kelly Moan
1:37:05
Yeah.
1:37:05
So OTI Cloud Review takes place within the the broader broader community of OTI divisions.
1:37:11
As I mentioned, security is just one of those.
1:37:14
Mhmm.
1:37:15
And so, you know, OTI has launched in 2022, actually launched a strategic plan and has a technology strategy related to the digital ecosystem of the city.
1:37:27
And so cloud review is one component of assistance that provides insight into agencies who are building systems that Maybe don't realize that they can take advantage of OTI in house solutions or an opportunity to for economies of scale, for example, to make sure that the city is getting the best capability out of a vendor community, or it's a new novel technology that requires enhanced security review and regardless of it being built on cloud, maybe it's on premises.

And then they work with my office to do so as well.
