I am in strong support of the historic landmark designation of the Old Cronin aqueduct walk, which sits atop the old Cronton aqueduct itself, an engineering marvel of its time built by immigrants.

The aqueduct was constructed in 1842 and brought to the 1st direct supply of water to New York City from upstate.

Since almost immediately after its completion, the aqueduct walk has been well known to to New Yorkers, especially the Bronx residents, as an open space and park.

Today, the aqueduct Walk is a geographic spine of the Council District of Council District 14 and includes basketball courts playground seating seating areas, and historic features of the park that have been maintained.
