Linda Tigani discusses CORE's current office space situation and plans for accommodating future staff. CORE currently shares space with MOERJ but lacks sufficient seating for FY25 staffing plans. They are in frequent communication with DCAS and OMB to find additional space.

  • CORE currently has 7 allocated seats, which are all filled
  • They are actively seeking space for FY25 to accommodate new hires
  • Creative solutions, including a work-from-home policy, are being implemented to manage space constraints
Linda Tigani
1:53:43
So currently, core sits with M0ERJ.
1:53:47
So we have 7 seats that were allocated to us in FY 24, and we have filled those seats.
1:53:53
We do not have seats for FY 25.
1:53:56
We are talking decast and with OMB, I would say as often probably as once a week, our director of operations that I'm in situation is on the phone.
1:54:08
Really trying to find space for FY 25 so that we can bring people long, and they have a, you know, they replace this sit.
1:54:18
So we're hoping to be able to have a space identified within the next month too.
1:54:22
But again, that's, you know, that's another area that's out of my hands.
Nantasha M. Williams
1:54:27
Every minute slow.
1:54:28
So if you were not able to have new space, within 2 months?
1:54:32
And you bring people on?
1:54:35
Do you intend to bring new people on within 2 months?
1:54:38
Or is it a for their projection when you expect people to come onboard new people?
Linda Tigani
1:54:46
That's a great question.
1:54:47
I would say the work cannot wait.
1:54:50
We are already stretched with the amount of requests that we're getting for community conversations, and we only have 2 staff members.
1:54:58
That particular area of work.
1:55:01
Thankfully, we do have a work from home policy that aligns with the city's policy, So our team is coming up with creative ways to ensure that everyone can come into the office and meet at least 3 days meet the requirement of at least 3 days in the office.
1:55:17
But again, we're continuing to work with Decast and OMB to get into another space or find additional desks in the meantime, but we, you know, we do need our own office.
Nantasha M. Williams
1:55:30
So essentially, you're playing musical chairs throughout the week.
Linda Tigani
1:55:33
I'm sorry.
Nantasha M. Williams
1:55:34
So essentially, you would be playing musical chairs throughout the week.
1:55:37
It would be I hope those chairs.
Linda Tigani
1:55:39
I hope not.
1:55:40
Okay.
1:55:40
I hope not.
1:55:42
But and I will say DCAS is working to identify if I space.
1:55:45
So I I feel confident that we'll be able to move into a space, but I personally do not wanna delay the work of core and what community is asking for.
1:55:56
I would say it's a right now, it's a hard decision.
Nantasha M. Williams
1:55:59
Okay.
1:56:00
So in lieu of adequate space.
1:56:01
Essentially, you are being creative and innovative around how people are able to come in the office and have a place to sit.
1:56:09
Throughout the week.
1:56:12
Has Cor ever reached out to OMB to discuss budget needs.
1:56:18
And if so, what was the response?
1:56:20
So I know you mentioned that you have been having congress stations in your testimony.
1:56:24
I don't know if
Linda Tigani
1:56:25
you have anything else to share.
