Linda Tigani explains CORE's role in the citywide racial equity planning process, focusing on the development and implementation of community equity priorities.

  • CORE issued draft community equity priorities to guide the planning process
  • They present at every training held by MOERJ for city agencies
  • CORE provides examples of how to incorporate equity priorities into agency plans
  • They recommend agencies include at least one equity priority from each of the three fundamental value sets in their plans

So our first role in responsibility is to issue community equity priorities because of the Abridge timeline We issued draft community equity priorities so that the community could respond and reflect, but also tell as if there was something that was missing.
2:06:03
Those priorities were developed after having reviewed footage of public feedback that was given to government in different scenarios, whether it be the town halls that have been from data from time to time or previous engagement sessions or forums that were livestreamed, we released the community equity priorities the day that the racial equity planning kickoff occurred.
2:06:31
And so we've been able to present at every training that MOERJ has held, whether it be in person or virtual.
2:06:38
We've given agencies the opportunity to also give us feedback, and we've been able to provide examples of how do you input or rather how do you allow the draft community equity priority ways to influence your decisions on the work that you're putting forward in the plan.
2:06:57
We've also offered the key recommendation to every agency, please consider sorry.
2:07:05
Please consider are allowing 1 community equity priority from each value set.
2:07:11
So the community equity priorities align with the fundamental value news, and we understand that agencies may not be able to take up all 16 at the same time, but they certainly can take up an equity priority in the 1st value set, which is that our government just leave values all talents and contributions.
2:07:30
The second 1, our government ensures the condition of thriving, and then our government, it vigilantly embraces remedy and reconstruction.
2:07:39
We're off frame that they identify at least 1 equity priority within those sets and included in their plan.
