Council Member Williams inquires about MOERJ's plans to measure accountability to the city's racial equity plan and its collaboration with the Commission on Racial Equity. Commissioner Sherman explains the accountability measures and the working relationship with the Commission.

  • Each plan will have goals, strategies, and indicators to track progress
  • MOERJ will work with agencies to track indicators and mitigate challenges
  • Progress reports will provide public updates on the plan's implementation
  • The Commission on Racial Equity has developed draft community equity priorities
  • MOERJ has integrated the Commission into agency training sessions to share community priorities
  • MOERJ and the Commission regularly exchange updates and information

I love that.
1:06:16
How does MOERJ plan to measure accountability to the city's racial equity plan going forward?
Sideya Sherman
1:06:22
So every plan will have a goal, set of goals, set of strategies, as well as indicators.
1:06:28
And so our role as we move into the implementation phase.
1:06:33
We'll be at work with agencies to not just track indicators, but also to understand how we're, you know, moving along the process so that we could also mitigate any challenges that are happening.
1:06:45
So the progress report will provide that public update.
1:06:48
You know, I shared earlier that the commission on racial equity, and I know they're they they've shared a set of community equity priority They also, you know, have an opportunity to share potential indicators too, and so that can also be part of the plan.
1:07:01
And that's something that we would make sure to track and report publicly as part of our process.
1:07:08
Thank you.
1:07:09
Almost done.

1:07:12
How is MOVRJ working with the commission or racial act equity in relation to ratio equity planning.
Sideya Sherman
1:07:20
Sure.
1:07:20
So core has also been a really great part in this process.
1:07:25
You know, they've hit the ground running and have developed a set of draft community equity priorities.
1:07:30
We bought core into the training sessions that we've had with agencies so that they can directly deliver those communicative priorities to agencies and explain them and provide an opportunity for agencies to ask questions to really understand them, unpack them so that they can, you know, consider that in their planning process.
1:07:47
And so we regularly exchange updates, information, in with Core, and we look forward to sharing a draft plan with the commission in the fall.
