The city's budget is not just a financial accounting and accountability tool.

It is a moral contract that identifies what we prioritize as important for the well-being of our communities and what we are willing to fight the hardest for.

The voters of the 42nd council district elected me to the council to fight for our seniors.

Our nature residents, our homeowners, our children, their schools, and so much more that is what I along with my colleagues at 4th for.

With the budget, I can tell those living in nature senior developments that we fought for their safety.

I can tell my parents and students that we fought for their libraries, their educational programming, their early education, their libraries, their after school programs.

I can tell the victims of crime and domestic violence that have fought for their well-being.

We have fought to for improved parks for improved social services and improved cleanliness in our streets.

While I do believe that we need more investment in protecting Nitro's capital improvement plan, and protecting section 9, and more investment from the federal government, the efforts of this body are a step in the right direction.

And while no budget is perfect, I'm proud to go back and tell my district and tell my constituents that are fought to bring many necessary resources back to our district, and then I will continue that fight day in and day out as the council member.
