Council Member Salamanca expresses concern about City Planning's approach to presenting rezoning plans directly to community boards without specific developers present. City Planning explains their rationale for this approach.
- City Planning presents proposals for city-wide initiatives as the lead agency
- The department works collaboratively with private developers on specific sites
- This approach is typical for city-wide initiatives, with the department taking the lead in presentations to community boards and elected officials

Okay.
1:06:53
My concern with this process I could say in terms of the the city planning part was that city planning went and presented directly to community boards.
1:07:05
You know, propose what the changes will be, r 7, RAR 7 dash 3, whatever that is.
1:07:12
But there was no real presentation made to the community board from a specific developer.
1:07:17
Can you explain why city planning chose that approach?

So thank you for the question.
1:07:23
So I think this is a city wide initiative.
1:07:28
And so as a lead agency, typically, what happens is the Department of City Planning will present the proposal.
1:07:33
I will say a note that with the private developers, we work them collaboratively over the years with the proposal on their specific sites.
1:07:41
And so that has been done in concert with those private developers, so somewhat in lock stuff.
1:07:47
But typical process for a city wide initiative is that the department takes a lead on presenting the actual proposal to community boards and elected officials.
