Before we begin, I want to take a moment to remember the lives of several New Yorkers who died on the job over these past few weeks.

We are mourning the deaths of Naveed Abzal, a rideshare driver in council meet council member Hudson's district.

As a city, we are also mourning the deaths of Luchiano and Maria Tavares, a married couple who died during a deadly fire in council member De La Rosa's district on June 25th.

Earlier this month, we lost 4 teenagers who tragically drowned in our city's beaches.

And we are mourning the death of Edgar Ordonez, an NYPD recruit who sadly passed away at rodman's neck and council member Marmarado's district just 5 days before his graduation from the academy and whose funeral was held this morning.

Yesterday, Mark the 10th anniversary of the killing of Eric Garner at the hands of police officers on Staten Island.
