Rick Parisi from MPFP Landscape Architects presents the landscape design and waterfront access features of the project. The design focuses on connectivity and public open space.

  • Three connection points to Kent Avenue, including two publicly accessible areas and one visual corridor
  • More open space provided than typically required, with connections to the street and park
  • Multiple levels that step up from Kent Avenue to the Shore Public Walkway, all with ADA access
  • An informal amphitheater area that brings the public closer to the water

This slide right here shows what both Ray and Neville mentioned before, which is the connectivity to Kent.
0:43:17
In this particular project, we have 3 connection points, 2 PAAs, One is a visual corner, and that's at the Navy Yard section, one that goes through and under the two buildings, and then one on division.
0:43:31
The the interesting thing about this project is a lot of this open space is much more voluntary.
0:43:37
There is there was a concept to bring that open space, the sure public walkway to the street, and connect to the park.
0:43:45
And I think we've we've we have the opportunity in this project to bring more open space to the public than in most projects.
0:43:52
So next slide, please.
0:43:57
Just the overall site plan, what you see here are those connections to to Kent, and you also start to see the the multiple levels that step up the building.
0:44:07
Another important point of how this project is designed.
0:44:11
We are transitioning from Kent at Elevation 1618 to the Shore Public Walkway at Elevation 9.5 with ADA connections throughout.
0:44:20
So all these spaces have ADA access through it, and then they have step clauses above that.
0:44:26
Next.
0:44:28
And this is a view from the water, aerial view.
0:44:32
Next, this is a view from the Shore Public Walkway looking towards the north.
0:44:42
Next, another view from the lower level.
0:44:46
We have not a full get down, but we have a a transition point, ADA transition point that creates a little informal amphitheater area that goes down around elevation 6.
0:44:56
So gets gets the public closer to the water, you know, which we always try to do in in all these public spaces.
