Overview of the Bronx Metro North plan rezoning proposal

Council Member Salamanca presents the Bronx Metro North plan, a significant rezoning initiative covering 45 blocks in the Bronx. The plan aims to create sustainable, affordable, mixed-use neighborhoods around four planned new Metro-North rail stations.

Today, we are voting on a number of proposals, but we will began with the Bronx Metro North plan.

Today, we will vote to approve the modifications as long awaited area rezoning, which covers over 45 Blocks in district represented by Council members, Maserato, majority leader Fariyas, and Cheer Riley.

But I do want to emphasize how important this initiative is for our Northern Bronx communities, in addressing a vision for sustainability, affordability, mixed use neighborhoods around the the 4 planned new metro rail stations at Huntspoint, Park Chester, Van Ness, Morris Park, and Co op City, which will serve as a great need.
